Skuish was never meant to be a company that simply makes cookies, sells them, and moves on.
We wanted to build something that could make people happy and leave something good behind.
What if the thing we loved could help someone else?
Baking has always been about joy. The smell of something warm in the oven. Sharing a box. Bringing something to someone's home. Watching someone's face change after the first bite.
But at some point, that joy started to feel like it could become something more.
We wanted baking to mean more.
As the idea for Skuish grew, so did the reason behind it.
Carla and Mo didn't want to build a business that only measured success by how many cookies it sold.
They wanted to create something that could support people, strengthen community, create opportunities, and bring a little more joy into the world.
A business can lift the people around it.
Giving back doesn't only happen through donations.
It happens when we choose local suppliers where we can. When we print locally. When we create jobs. When we choose to spend money with other businesses in our community.
Every decision is an opportunity to ask: Can this help someone else grow too?

We also wanted the growth of Skuish to reach people we may never meet.
That's why we support local and worldwide charitable organizations that align with our values, including organizations focused on helping provide vital nutrition to children and families in need.
We may not be able to solve every problem.
We don't want Skuish to be remembered only for making a really good cookie.
We want it to be remembered for what we did with the opportunity people gave us.
